Terms of Service & Privacy Policy

This policy explains the terms and privacy practices that apply when you use tobeimage.

Terms of Service

  1. You use tobeimage at your own risk.
  2. All image processing takes place in your browser. See the privacy policy below for details.
  3. You may use the service for any purpose, including personal and commercial use.
  4. We may change or discontinue any part of this website or service at any time.
  5. We may revise these terms without prior notice.
  6. The service is provided without warranties of any kind.
  7. Image compression, especially lossy compression, is irreversible. A compressed image cannot be restored to its pre-compression state. Please back up important original files before processing them.
  8. You must have the legal right or permission to process each image. You must not use this service to process unlawful content.

Privacy Policy

  1. Your image files never leave your device. All image processing takes place locally in your browser. Image files are not uploaded to or processed by our servers.
  2. We do not collect, store, or have access to the images you process or the results you create with this service.
  3. We use Baidu Tongji and Google Analytics to understand website visits. These services may use cookies or similar technologies for analytics. Image files are never uploaded to analytics services.
  4. Re-encoded images have metadata removed automatically. When the tool re-encodes an image, it removes EXIF data, GPS location, camera details, and capture time, and applies image orientation to pixels when needed. If the original is kept because re-encoding would increase the file size, its metadata may also be kept. The interface indicates this before download.
  5. Cookies and local storage. We do not use our own cookies to save images or processing history. Baidu Tongji and Google Analytics may use cookies or similar technologies. WebAssembly codec files required by the compression engine may be cached by your browser under its normal caching rules. That cache contains program code only, not your image data.
  6. If we make a material change to this policy, we will update the “Last updated” date. If the change expands the scope of data collection, we will display a prominent notice on the homepage.
